Meteor Zond
There are many nice units in infinity. I dont know why, but my favorite unit in the game is the meteor zond. There are countless of things we can write down on paper for this unit. I will try to notify most of them here, but i am sure that i will miss a few others.
Ok here is the statsline.
movement 6-4 , cc 8 , bs11, ph 11 ,wip 13 , arm 0 , bts 3 . these basic stats are nothing. the thing that makes it special is the abilities it has. anyways it is really fast.
firstly, it is an air deployment unit and a forward observer. so in any time of the game, it can land, reach to point you desire and push the button for you.
it is a forward observer. so it has flash pulse and can put your enemies in targeted state.
it has repeater. so without doing something with the zond, you can use your hackers to attack anything in its' zone of control.
it has awesome abilities like satlock and sensor. in such a troop that can reach anywhere on the table, you can dream about how many nice things that you can achieve with this troop.
it has good synergy with evo repeater. ph becomes 14, can land more easily and satlock becomes more deadly than ever now. satlock with evo repeater is same with best hackers in the game with wip 16 using spotlight.
since it has repeater, you can buff your REM with a hacker in your deployment zone. by this way he can aro with wip 13 - 2 flash pulse or attack without caring cover bonus , bs14- 3 burst attacks with combi it has, in the suitable ranges.
You dont need to land directly, if you havent brought an evo repeater. You can come from the sides and with nice pace of 6-4 movement, it can get closer to places it must come very easilly.
the only option you can take is as below.
combi rifle + forward observer 21 points, 1 swc
cost base it is very cheap. extra swc sometimes hurts. availability is only 1.
naturally they are a nice couple with vertigo zond and prowler with grenades.
take one meteor zond and you wont be unhappy. if you even loose it in a unlucky situation, it is only 21 points.
